Bigger Steel Limited chain link is manufactured from hot-dipped galvanised wire of 14 gauge (2mm). The wire runs vertically and bends into a zigzag, then runs against the next to form the diamond pattern.

Details
- Width. Standard heights run from 4 feet to 8 feet. Other sizes are made to order.
- Mesh size. The diamond size sets how much security the fence offers – the smaller the diamond, the stronger the link. Available at 85x85mm, 75x75mm, 65x65mm, 60x60mm and 50x50mm.
- Roll length. The standard roll is 18 metres.
- Edges. Twisted, which is harder to open than a knuckled edge and so gives better security.
- Zinc coating. The coating sets the lifespan: commercial coating lasts 5 to 10 years depending on the environment, heavy coating up to 30. Coastal fencing should be heavily coated – humidity and salt spray take the light coatings quickly.
